An experimental act bordering on performance art, approaching garments as objects of primal appreciation rather than as a collection - an exploration of the rare purity that exists between making, object and appreciation.Presented as First Look #2 - KURT HO Fashion Presentation at PMQ, Hong Kong in 2018, to an audience of 150+.2018
It came to my thoughts that what we work on can only be shown a year or two after it happened when doing collections by season (which is why we had abandoned this very practice back then).
While some think showing the work in progress will spoil the reveal, to us, however, it’s the most intriguing part of all.
Featuring four 8 ft. tall framed canvases with garments constructed into them, we cut outfits out from them -
intuitively, gently, brutally -
We shared those 20 minutes creating something just for the sake of appreciation of garments, of beauty.
This is one of the many projects where I tried to present not only the finished products, but more importantly the process of making them as well, in the most transparent and intimate way.
